Ilvija Bruģe

Ilvija Bruge is an associated researcher at the Latvian Institute of International Affairs. She holds a BA degree in Political Science and MA degree in International Relations from Riga Stradins University, as well as MSc degree in Social Anthropology from the University of Edinburgh. Ilvija has also been an exchange student at Wysza Szkola Biznesu-National Louis University in Nowy Sacz, Poland. Her research experience apart for a long-term collaboration the institute includes work as a research analyst for a UK-based political risk advisory, contribution to the international research project Varieties of Democracy, as well as 1st year PhD Social Anthropology studies in the University of Edinburgh. Ilvija has also worked for the European Union Structural Funds Department at the State Chancellery of the Republic of Latvia.
Her current research interests are related to political, economic, historic, and socio-cultural developments in the post-Soviet area, and Ukraine in particular.
