Baltic EU Conversations 2020: Reinventing Europe?

On 3 April 2020 at the Parliament of the Republic of Latvia, Jēkaba Street 6/8, LIIA in cooperation with partners will hold an annual high-level international conference: "Baltic EU Conversations 2020: Reinventing Europe?"

This will be the fifth year for “Baltic EU Conversations,” the largest EU-themed high-level international conference in the Baltic states. Every year, speakers are selected to represent the diversity inherent in European Union decision-making – the conference draws the participation of the highest-ranking officials, influential politicians, think-tankers and academia from the EU member states and various EU institutions.

Registration will be available in early March.

“Baltic EU Conversations 2020: Reinventing Europe?” will deal with six topics: the political future of the EU in the new legislative cycle, the state of the EU’s economy in the context the multiannual financial framework 2021-2027, the European Strategic Autonomy initiative, the rejuvenation of the Eastern Partnership, the modernization of democracy in EU countries, and the options available to the EU and the US in today’s global politics.

The “Baltic EU Conversations” conference is supported by the Representation of the European Commission in Latvia and the Parliament of the Republic of Latvia, and is organized in cooperation with the Institute of International Relations and Political Science at Vilnius University, the International Centre for Defence and Security (Estonia) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia.
