Video address by Mr. Andris Kužnieks, Acting Head of the European Commission Representation in Latvia
On 5 April 2019 from 09.00 until 16.15, at the Parliament of the Republic of Latvia, Jēkaba Street 6/8, LIIA in cooperation with partners will hold an annual high-level international conference: Baltic EU Conversations 2019: Awaiting Political Change.
2019 is a year of change in Europe - European elections are taking place and a new European Commission will be approved in the fall. It is an opportunity for European citizens to choose their future. This year, Latvia will mark 15 years after joining the EU, we can no longer talk that Europe will not understand us because we ourselves are Europe! We are actively involved in shaping the European agenda and discussing the future of Europe. That is why we are continuing negotiations on the EU's Multiannual Financial Framework, security and defense, disinformation and social rights issues. We encourage everyone to participate actively in the Baltic EU conversations 2019, both online and joining us in person – get involved, ask questions and express your opinions.
The event is organized by LIIA together with the European Commission Representation in Latvia and the Parliament of the Republic of Latvia, with the support of the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Institute of International Relations and Political Science at the University of Vilnius.
