Online event: “Artificial Intelligence in the Media: A Tool for Shaping Public Perception of U.S. Foreign Policy”

The Latvian Institute of International Affairs, in cooperation with the Bertelsmann Foundation, invites you to the upcoming event: “Artificial Intelligence in the Media: A Tool for Shaping Public Perception of U.S. Foreign Policy.”
This event marks the launch of LIIA's participation in the “Transatlantic Periscope” project, led by the Bertelsmann Foundation. The Transatlantic Periscope is an interactive and dynamic online tool that provides users with analyses, data visualizations, multimedia content and in-depth briefings to cultivate a broader and deeper understanding of the current and recent historical trends defining the relationship between the United States and each of the European Union’s member countries and the United Kingdom.
The launch event will explore how U.S. President Donald Trump's close ties with key tech leaders—such as Elon Musk (X), Mark Zuckerberg (Meta), and Shou Zi Chew (TikTok) - influence the portrayal of U.S. foreign policy on social media. As artificial intelligence plays an increasing role in filtering information for users, we will examine how AI-driven content on social media shapes public perception of the U.S. and Latvia, as well as their bilateral relations.
