The LIIA in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Latvia cordially invites you to the seminar "Korean Perspective on the EU and Indo-Pacific Security Challenges." The event will take place on October 14, from 15:00 to 16:00 (Riga time), at the EU House, Aspazijas bulvāris 28, Riga.

To attend the seminar in person, please, register here.

The partnership between the Indo-Pacific and Euro-Atlantic regions forms a vital cornerstone for maintaining peace and security in both Northeast Asia and the European Union. However, growing collaboration between Russia and North Korea could escalate military tensions, posing a significant risk to stability in these regions and threatening the Indo-Pacific’s security landscape. At the same time, the ripple effects of the Russia-Ukraine war are further straining the European Union's security environment, with direct implications for Northeast Asia. In light of these intertwined challenges, fostering cooperation and enhanced information sharing between the two regions is more important than ever. The seminar “Korean Perspective on the EU and Indo-Pacific Security Challenges” will shed light on the critical role of strategic solidarity between the Indo-Pacific and Euro-Atlantic regions in tackling shared threats and preserving global stability.
