Among other questions raised in this article, there is an analysis of Latvian and Estonian economic development up to the global financial crisis in 2008, a look at the countries’ experiences, an analysis of the economic challenges during the recession, an overview of adopted policies and solutions, as well as an exploration of opportunities for further development, which from the perspective of some well known economists– like, for instance, Paul Krugman– has been questionable.
