The Latvian Institute of International Affairs publishes an analytical assessment “European Political Challenges in The Context of The European Elections and The Latvian Presidency of The EU Council” that concentrates on the new European Parliament and the European Commission composition,and evaluates what are the main EU development scenarios and the potential impact on Latvia. Although a sudden institutional or political crisis is unlikely, the Latvian EU Council presidency will have to follow developments very closely and also become actively involved in discussions on the future of the EU.
