Baumanis, Toms. Latvijas integrācija Eiropas struktūrās– drošības politikas risinājums. Rīga: Latvijas Ārpolitikas institūts, 1996.

This book contains an analysis of one of the options of Latvian security policy– integration in the European security structures (OSCE, EU, WEU and NATO) and factors that influenced this particular choice. In the first part of the book the analysis is structured according to four main features of Latvian foreign policy strategies– internationalization of foreign policy issues, support for multilateral initiatives, active participation in international organizations, and gaining membership in the most important security organizations. In the second part of the book alternatives to the security policy are analysed, as well as those factors that favoured the strategic decision to integrate in European institutions.
